01Klone Centaur
Primary dirt stage mimicking the Marshall crunchy power section
02Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9
Tightens low frequencies and adds classic 1kHz mid punch into the Klone
03MXR Six Band EQ
Pushes British midrange bark and cuts excessive sub-bass rumble
04EHX Oceans 11
Plate mode, very subtle studio room ambience
The Princeton Reverb is an inherently scooped, chimey clean platform lacking the mid-forward punch of a cranked Marshall JCM800. Stacking the TS9 into the Klone generates authentic cascaded tube-style crunch while avoiding harsh preamp fuzz, and the MXR 6-Band EQ pushes 800Hz-1.6kHz to inject the missing British midrange. Amp bass is kept modest at 4 so the 10-inch speaker doesn't flub out under palm-muted downstrokes. Clean verse: step on the TS9 to bypass it and drop your Strat's volume to 7.
