01Treble Boost (OD/DS block: 'TREBLE BST')
Engaged in front of the amp block to tighten the low end and replicate Brian May's Cornish TB-83
The Jackson JS22 ceramic bridge humbucker is hotter and darker than Brian May's series-wired Tri-Sonics, so the Boss GT-1 treble booster block pushes upper mids while the amp block's bass is dialed back to 42 to prevent the dropped D string from flubbing. Amp mids are pushed aggressively to 78 to mimic the original mix EQ where May and producer Roy Thomas Baker boosted 1-3kHz to make the rhythm guitars punch through. A touch of room reverb recreates the Super Bear Studios room ambience. Intro cleanup: roll guitar volume back to 6-7 for the semi-clean intro riff.
