01Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This pedal is essential to the tone; without it you will not achieve the fuzzy, saturated grind. A budget clone like the Donner Dark Mouse or EHX Green Russian reissue gets you there. Run into amp input.
The MG10 is a solid-state practice amp with limited headroom and a harsher high-end than a JCM 900. Without the Big Muff, you cannot replicate this tone—the fuzz IS the sound. I pushed the amp's gain to 7 to approximate some saturation, scooped mids slightly to 4 to match the Big Muff's natural mid-cut, and rolled treble to 5 to tame the MG's fizzy top end. Your Ibanez humbuckers are hotter than Ler's neck single coil, so using the neck pickup with tone rolled to 6 softens the attack and adds warmth.
