The Peavey Classic 30 is EL84-based with more scooped mids than a Hiwatt, so mid is pushed to 7 (vs Hiwatt's ~5) to recover that vocal singing quality. Your Les Paul's neck humbucker is warmer and thicker than Gilmour's Strat neck single-coil, so treble stays at 6 and bass is cut to 4 to prevent mud. The amp's natural compression helps, but you need a Big Muff—the Peavey's preamp gain alone won't deliver that signature fuzzy sustain. Without the Muff, push gain to 7-8 and accept a grittier, less compressed result.
