Why these settings

The Spider III Insane channel approximates the Rectifier's saturated modern voicing but runs hotter and looser. Gain at 7 rather than maxed prevents fizz. The Dark Flame as a low-gain boost in front tightens the flubby low end the Spider III suffers from - this mimics how Jeff Ling and Luke Kilpatrick use an OD808 into their Mesas. Mid at 4 keeps the scoop without disappearing.

PRO TIPParkway Drive's tight chugs come from palm-mute position - anchor your palm closer to the bridge saddles than usual and attack with a stiff, short pick stroke. The definition is in the pick hand, not the gain knob.
