Why these settings

The Jackson JS22 stock ceramic bridge pickup provides high output similar to Dime's Bill Lawrence L-500XL, so keep gain at 8 to preserve saturation without getting muddy. On the Boss GT-1, the extreme solid-state bite is dialed by deeply scooping mid to 2 while pushing presence and treble to 8. The onboard EQ block recreates the classic Furman PQ-3 upper-mid spike that defines Dimebag's cutting edge.

PRO TIPDimebag tuned down a quarter-step to around D-standard flat (~425Hz); use an aggressive, heavy downward attack with the shoulder of a stiff pick right over the bridge pickup to reproduce his percussive, razor-sharp attack.
