01Boss DS-1 or similar Distortion
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Rhoads used an MXR Distortion+ for the grit; a DS-1 at low distortion with high output approximates this. Without it, push amp gain to 7-8 but you'll lose note separation.
Your Pacifica's Alnico V bridge humbucker is lower output than Rhoads' Les Paul Custom, so gain goes +1 from the original amp setting. The Katana Brown channel nails the Plexi-style midrange bark. Bass stays low (3) because Rhoads ran bass at 2 and the mid-boost EQ was the secret — push mid to 7 to compensate for lacking the 10-band EQ's 500Hz spike. Treble drops 1 from original because the Katana Brown is already bright.
