Why these settings

The RockJam MG 10 is a basic solid-state practice amp with limited headroom and a brighter, thinner voice than the original cranked Marshall. Gain pushed to 7 compensates for the lack of tube saturation. Mid at 7 captures the Britpop bark; bass kept at 4 to avoid flabbiness in the small speaker. Treble at 6 prevents ice-pick highs. Rolling tone knob to 7 on the Les Paul tames harshness that solid-state amps emphasize.

PRO TIPDig in hard with your picking hand on the downstrokes — early Oasis tone relied heavily on aggressive right-hand attack to push the amp into natural breakup. The dynamics from your pick are doing work the amp cannot.
