01Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal (or clone)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. This pedal IS the black metal sound. Without it, use amp gain maxed but tone will lack the signature chainsaw rasp. TC Electronic Eyemaster or Behringer HM300 are affordable clones.
The Mustang LT25's British 80s model approximates the JCM800, but Fender-voiced digital amps are inherently warmer than the real thing. Treble is maxed and bass cut hard to compensate—the original tone is intentionally thin and harsh. Without an HM-2, you lose the fizzy, razorblade texture that defines this track; the amp's gain alone will sound smoother and more modern.
