01Noise Gate (RECOMMENDED)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Critical for tight deathcore palm mutes. Use the Mustang's built-in gate via Fender Tone app if available, or add a Boss NS-2 or TC Sentry.
02Tube Screamer-style OD (RECOMMENDED)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Run as a clean boost into the high-gain model to tighten low-end and add pick attack. Keep drive minimal — it's a tone shaper, not a gain source. Boss SD-1 or Ibanez TS Mini are budget options.
The original uses Kemper profiles of Fortin high-gain amps through 7-string Ibanez with active Fishman pickups. Your Mustang LT25's Metal 2000 model is the closest voicing — it emulates a Peavey 5150-style amp. Mid at 3 gives the scooped modern sound; your Strat's single-coil bridge pickup is thinner and brighter than their humbuckers, so bass is raised to 6 for body and treble stays at 7 rather than higher. The amp model cannot fully replicate the surgical tightness of a Kemper with noise gate, so a gate pedal is essential for clean palm-mute stops.
