RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for tightening the low-end on palm mutes and adding mid-push. Without this, the Laney's gain will feel loose and fizzy on drop-tuned chugs.

RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Cleans up the silence between staccato riffs. Run after the Tube Screamer, before amp input.
The Laney LX35R is a solid-state practice amp with a scooped, fizzy voicing compared to the Rectifier's tight, scooped-but-punchy character. I pushed mids to 6 (original Rectifier runs mids around 4 but it has a naturally tighter low-mid response) to compensate for the Laney's looser voicing. Bass is held at 5 to prevent mud on drop tuning. Without a Tube Screamer, the amp's drive channel alone will lack the focused midrange punch and tight low-end that defines this tone—the TS is critical here.
