Why these settings

The Frontman 10G cannot produce high-gain saturation — it has no mid control and a 6-inch speaker that breaks up poorly. The DS-1 becomes your entire gain stage; amp gain stays low (3) to keep the platform clean. Bass dropped to 4 vs the original's 6 because the small speaker muddies with low-end; treble raised to 6 to compensate for the Strat's ceramic humbuckers being darker than the PRS HFS. The original's scooped-mid character comes naturally from the DS-1's voicing.

PRO TIPTune to Drop D and palm-mute hard directly over the bridge pickup — the percussive attack defines this riff more than any EQ setting. Roll tone knob to 8 to tame the DS-1's fizz on the Frontman's bright solid-state response.
