01Chorus (any basic chorus — Boss CE-5, Donner Tutti Love, or similar)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for the shimmering texture. A cheap TC Electronic Corona Clone or Behringer UC200 will work.
02Delay (Boss DD-3, Donner Yellow Fall, or any digital delay)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Set around 450-500ms. This song is 70% delay. Without it, you lose the entire vibe.
03Reverb (any plate or hall reverb — TC Electronic Skysurfer, Boss RV-6)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Plate or hall mode. Adds the spacious depth.
The Frontman 10G is a solid-state practice amp with no presence knob and limited headroom — it cannot replicate the warm tube compression of a Dual Rectifier clean channel. Keep gain at 2 for maximum clean headroom. Rolling treble down to 4 compensates for the Frontman's inherently bright, thin voicing. Mid at 5 and bass at 6 adds the warmth the original has. The GRX40's ceramic humbuckers are hotter and brighter than a PRS or SG — rolling the tone knob to 6 and using the neck pickup tames the harshness and gets closer to that round, intimate clean.
