Why these settings

The Peavey Bandit has tighter, more aggressive mids than a Marshall Super Bass, so I pulled the mid back to 5 (vs the original's likely 6-7) to avoid harshness. Bass is set to 6 to compensate for the Bandit's less woolly low-end. The Les Paul's humbuckers are hotter than the Danelectro's lipstick pickups, so gain stays moderate at 5—the original tone is crunchy but not saturated. Roll the tone knob to 7 to tame the Les Paul's brighter bridge pickup and approximate the Danelectro's darker voice.

PRO TIPThe magic of Kashmir is in the DADGAD tuning and the percussive, palm-muted attack on the main riff. Dig in with your pick near the bridge and let the notes ring with purpose—the phaser does the rest. If you want to get closer to Page's studio sound, try the POD's Marshall Plexi or JTM-45 amp model set clean with the phaser in front, then use the Bandit as a flat power amp via the effects return.
