RECOMMENDED — not currently owned (adds Mayer's signature transparent low-mid bloom and subtle hair)
The Fender Deluxe Reverb shares the big low-end and glassy clean headroom of Mayer's Two-Rock/Dumble setup, naturally scooping the mids. The Deluxe Reverb faceplate has only Volume, Treble, Bass, and Reverb controls (no physical Middle or Presence knobs). On a Telecaster, roll the tone back to 8 and stay on the neck pickup to soften the single-coil bite and mimic the woody warmth of Mayer's Stratocaster.
