Foxy lady amp settings — Fender Twin Reverb
The Jimi Hendrix guitar tone for “Foxy lady”, dialed in for a Fender Twin Reverb with a Fender Jimi Hendrix Stratocaster. Studio version, Are You Experienced (1967)
Fender Stratocaster (bridge pickup) -> Arbiter Fuzz Face (Germanium NKT275) -> 100W Marshall Super Lead stack
| Knob | Setting (0–10) |
|---|---|
| Bass | 5 |
| Mid | 7 |
| Treble | 5 |
| Reverb | 2 |
| Master | 4 |
01Boss OD-3 OverDrive
Used here as the primary saturation engine to emulate fuzzy power-amp clipping
02Ibanez Tube Screamer TS9
Stacks into the OD-3 to restore the classic Marshall mid-hump through the scooped Fender Twin
03Boss RV-6 Reverb
Set to Room/Hall mode for subtle Olympic Studios room ambience (or run direct into amp input)
The original recording derived its ferocious, fuzzy bite from a cranked Germanium Fuzz Face hitting a 100W Marshall Super Lead. Because the Fender Twin Reverb has immense clean headroom and a naturally scooped midrange, we push amp mids to 7, switch off the bright switch, and stack the TS9 into the OD-3 to mimic the compressed, mid-heavy Marshall breakup without an actual Fuzz Face. For maximum authenticity, adding a Germanium Fuzz Face is strongly recommended.
