Why these settings

The Blues Junior is a clean-headroom Fender with scooped mids — the opposite of Slash's cranked mid-forward Marshall. Without a dirt pedal, this tone is unobtainable. Amp gain stays low (3) because the recommended TS provides the grit; mid is cranked to 8 to compensate for Fender's natural mid-scoop. Your Strat's single coils are brighter and lower output than Slash's humbuckers, so treble drops to 5 and tone knob rolls to 7 to tame ice-pick highs.

PRO TIPDig in hard with the pick near the bridge and use downstrokes on the main riff — Slash's attack is aggressive and percussive, which drives the amp harder and adds the snarl that defines this tone.
