The Yamaha Pacifica's neck single coil is inherently glassier and thinner than Slash's warm neck humbucker. To compensate, mids are boosted to 8 on the J800 amp model, treble is pulled back to 5, and rolling the guitar tone knob down to 6 rounds off single-coil chime to nail that round, vocal 'woman tone'.
