Why these settings

The Danville 1 is a small practice amp with limited gain and no channel switching — it cannot replicate the Silver Jubilee's natural compression and midrange bark on its own. Push mids +2 above typical settings to compensate for the Danville's flatter voicing. A Boss DS-1 or similar drive pedal is essential to reach the sustaining crunch of the original; without it, the tone will be thin and clean. The SX Les Paul's humbuckers are lower output than Alnico II Pros, so the DS-1 compensates here as well.
