The Mesa Rectifier is scooped with a looser low-end; the JCM800 is mid-forward and tighter. Pushed mids from 6 to 7 to compensate for the JCM's natural presence, dropped bass from 6 to 5 to avoid flub (the 2203 has more low-mid punch), and pulled presence from 6.5 to 5 to avoid the 800's characteristic ice-pick. The recording is bone dry — no reverb.
