Your GRG170DX has Infinity humbuckers — hotter and brighter than vintage PAFs. Rolling tone to 7 warms up the top end. The GP-200's US Deluxe model nails the Tweed Deluxe's midrange bloom; gain at 6 replicates cranked-tube sag without fizz. Original had no reverb — the Echoplex tape delay was the only ambience.

PRO TIPFelder's solo sustain came from playing LOUD into a small combo at edge-of-breakup — on a modeler, add a touch of compression block (ratio 3:1, threshold medium) before the amp to simulate power-tube sag and get that singing note decay.
