The Fender Rumble 15 features a simple 3-band EQ (Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble) without a dedicated gain or presence control. To counter the Rumble's naturally scooped, boomy character and replicate John Myung's razor-sharp articulation, mid is pushed heavily to 8 and treble to 7 while keeping bass at 5 so the 8-inch speaker stays tight. A Precision Bass lacks the active dual-humbucker bite of Myung's 6-string Yamaha, so keep your tone knob at 10 to preserve maximum string clank. If you add the recommended bass preamp/overdrive pedal later, set its drive around 4 and leave the amp EQ neutral.
