The Blues Junior IV is an open-back, blues-voiced tube combo and cannot physically match Stef's JMP-1/Mesa wall-of-sound on its own, so we engage the Fat switch and push the volume/gain to 9 for maximum tube overdrive today. Because your Strat has lower-output single coils and a naturally bright top end, roll the tone knob back to 8 and keep mids up at 6 to prevent the riff from sounding thin. Adding a dedicated high-gain distortion pedal into the clean channel (gain at 2) will instantly close the gap to the record. Verse clean: roll guitar volume down to 6.
