Classic COB tone-tightening technique - drive at zero, level cranked to push the 5150 preamp harder while filtering low-end mud
Your 5150 is actually tighter and more aggressive than the Marshall JCM rigs COB used, so this is a favorable match. I dropped gain from what would be 8-9 on a Marshall to 7 because the 5150 has more preamp saturation. Mids stay strong at 6 to replicate that Finnish melodeath bite - the 5150's mid voicing is already tight so no scoop needed.
