01Fulltone OCD V2

RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. A Boss SD-1 or EHX Soul Food gets you 80% there as budget alternatives. This pedal is essential to the tone — the AC30 crunch comes from the OCD, not the amp's preamp.

Why these settings

Your 5150 is a high-gain monster where the AC30 is a chimey Class A — use the Rhythm channel to stay clean and let a pedal provide the grit. The Les Paul's humbuckers are darker and hotter than Turner's Tele single coil, so I dropped bass -1 and pushed mids +1 to recover that wiry attack. Roll your tone knob to 7 to tame the humbucker warmth and fake some Tele spank.

PRO TIPThe urgency of this tone is 90% picking hand — use stiff picks (1mm+), anchor near the bridge, and dig in with aggressive alternate picking on the single-note runs. The frantic energy comes from attack dynamics, not gain.
