01Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for this tone. The Twin stays clean; the SD-1 provides all the crunch. Without it, you cannot authentically recreate this sound.
02Boss CH-1 Super Chorus
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Use for verse clean arpeggios only; bypass for lead/chorus sections.
The original Marshall JCM800 has aggressive upper-mids around 2-3kHz; your Twin Reverb is scooped and glassy with highs at 6kHz. I pushed mid to 7 (vs original's 4) to compensate for the Fender's mid-scoop, and dropped treble to 5 (vs original's 7) to avoid ice-pick. The Twin will not crunch on its own at usable volumes—the SD-1 is mandatory as your gain source. Keep amp gain low to stay clean-platform.
