RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. Essential for Tony Iommi's signature pushed Laney front-end bite.
The Hot Rod Deluxe has a scooped American midrange, so the 'More Drive' channel is engaged with Mids pushed to 8 to mimic Iommi's cranked British Laney Supergroup. Treble is tamed slightly to 6 and guitar tone rolled to 8 to compensate for your bright Strat bridge single-coil versus his thick P-90 pickups. Low-end is kept at 4 to simulate the Rangemaster cutting sub-bass before the preamp. If you acquire a Treble Booster, switch the amp to the standard Drive channel at gain 4 and push the front end hard.
