01FX1/OD: T-SCREAM (Tube Screamer boost)
Tightens the low end into the high-gain amp model
02NS (Noise Suppressor)
Essential for clamping fast palm-muted stabs
The Boss GT-1 R-Fier model accurately reproduces the scooped low-end sag of the Dual Rectifier, so we use the T-Scream block with zero drive and high level up front to tighten the bass response for fast 16th-note alternate picking. The Jackson JS22 ceramic pickups are naturally bright, so keeping the preamp bass at 5 and mids at 6 prevents the tone from sounding thin or excessively harsh.
