01Fuzz Pedal (Big Muff style or similar)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned. A Big Muff Pi, Behringer SF300, or any budget fuzz will get you close. This pedal is essential to the tone — the amp gain alone will not replicate it.
The Stranger C15 is a basic solid-state practice amp without the Class A chime of the original AC30. To compensate for the thinner voicing, I pushed bass +1 and dropped treble -2 from the original settings to approximate the murky, dark character. Without a fuzz pedal, crank the gain to 7 to simulate saturation, but the tone will lack the thick, woolly texture Turner gets from the Coopersonic — a fuzz pedal is the missing link here.
