Why these settings

The Katana 100 MkII's Brown amp type recreates the modded Marshall JCM800 preamp saturation. To compensate for the Strat's thinner single-coil bridge pickup compared to Cantrell's high-output Duncan JB, the GE-7 pushes the 400Hz–1.6kHz midrange and level before hitting the preamp. The MT-2 is bypassed because the Brown voice provides authentic tube-style crunch without the harsh diode clipping of external distortion. Clean intro/verse: roll guitar volume down to 6 and switch to the neck+middle pickup.

PRO TIPDig in hard with a heavy pick near the bridge saddles to coax the signature Cantrell harmonic squawks and percussive pick attack on the low E-string palm mutes.
