RECOMMENDED — not currently owned
The Fender Deluxe Reverb is an inherently scooped, clean-headroom tube amp lacking a midrange knob or high-gain stage, whereas Angus's tone comes from a cranked, mid-heavy Marshall stack. To push the Deluxe Reverb into natural power-tube crunch with your Jackson's bridge humbucker, run the Volume (gain) up to 7 while shaving Bass to 4 to prevent low-end flub. With the recommended overdrive pedal added later, you can lower the amp's Volume to 3-4 and let the pedal supply the British midrange bite.
