Why these settings

Your Strat single-coil neck pickup is brighter and lower-output than Sykes' Les Paul humbucker. Bass pushed to 7 compensates for the thinner low-end, treble dropped to 5 prevents ice-pick highs. Gain at 2 keeps you clean — the original sat at edge-of-breakup on the JCM800, but your Strat into the FX100's Plexi model needs less gain to stay in that warm-clean zone. Volume knob at 7 on the guitar rolls off some brightness and adds touch sensitivity.

PRO TIPThe verse arpeggios were fingerpicked, not flatpicked — use your thumb and fingers for that soft, rounded attack that lets the chorus effect bloom without harsh transients. Roll your guitar volume to 6-7 for verses, then push to 10 for the full chord stabs in the chorus sections.
