RECOMMENDED — not currently owned
The Fender Rumble 40 is a flat, bass-oriented solid-state amplifier with a 10-inch woofer, so its built-in Overdrive circuit must carry the crunch today. Engage the Overdrive switch with Drive set to 7 to approximate the plexi bite, push the mid band to 7 to compensate for the Rumble's naturally scooped core, and pull bass to 4 so low-end frequencies do not mud up the guitar attack. Adding an external British-voiced overdrive pedal down the road will deliver the true open Plexi breakup that this clean bass platform cannot fully produce on its own.
