01Joyo Splinter Distortion
Set toggle switch to Stock mode (Fat off); serves as primary high-gain source into the Clean channel
The Joyo Splinter is used as the primary gain engine to replicate the saturated modern high-gain tone, which requires keeping the Marshall MG30CFX parked on the clean channel with amp gain at 2 to avoid muddy double-clipping. To compensate for the Stratocaster single-coil bridge pickup versus Barry Stock's thick humbuckers, the tone knob is rolled slightly back to 8 and the Splinter Filter is kept around 4 to tame piercing bite. Note that the MG30CFX faceplate has no physical presence knob, so it is omitted from the settings. For the cleaner verse textures, simply step on the Splinter to bypass it.
