Why these settings

The Joyo Jam Buddy II is a small practice amp with limited headroom — it cannot replicate Corgan's technique of diming a 100W Marshall's master volume. Amp gain is set to 2 (nearly clean) because the Big Muff provides ALL the saturation; stacking amp gain with fuzz creates mud. Mids scooped to 3 to approximate the Big Muff's natural mid-scoop. Without a Big Muff, cranking the Jam Buddy's gain will give generic distortion, not the Pumpkins' signature fuzz character.

PRO TIPCorgan tuned down 1/2 step to Db for this track — the detuning adds thickness and allows the fuzz to bloom differently. Also, he often layered 40+ guitar tracks on Pumpkins albums; you won't replicate that density live, so lean into the sustain and let notes ring into feedback.
