Why these settings

The Mustang LT25's '80s British model approximates the JCM 800's mid-forward bark. Gain is kept moderate (4) because the original is on the edge of breakup, not full crunch — your GRX70's humbuckers are hotter than Spinks' single coils, so we pull gain back 1-2 from where a Tele would sit. Treble stays high (7) to capture the sparkle; mids pushed (6) to compensate for the Mustang's more scooped default voicing vs a real Marshall.

PRO TIPUse your bridge pickup's coil-split if your GRX70 has one — the original tone is distinctly single-coil. If not, roll tone to 7-8 and pick closer to the neck to soften the humbucker's thickness. The chorus is non-negotiable for this tone; it's what makes it shimmer.
