The Katana 50 MkII lacks the natural power-tube compression of a cranked Vibroverb, so the Crunch amp type with onboard Booster delivers the necessary edge-of-breakup grit. We push the mids to 7 and treble to 7 to replicate the midrange bark of a Tube Screamer combined with the glassy top end of SRV's 15-inch JBL speaker. If you acquire a real TS9 pedal later, switch the Katana to Clean amp type at gain 3 and push the front end with the pedal's output level. Outro solo: switch to the neck pickup.
