Why these settings

The Frontman 10G's built-in Overdrive channel cannot produce the tight, modern high-gain saturation required for Drop A metal and gets extremely fizzy and flubby on its 6-inch speaker. To prevent double-gain mush and get the necessary percussive clank, keep the amp clean with gain at 2, leave the O.D. button OFF, and run a dedicated high-gain distortion pedal into the front. Note that the 10G faceplate only has Gain, Bass, and Treble controls (no Mid, Presence, or Reverb knobs).

PRO TIPTune down to Drop A (A-E-A-D-F#-B) with heavier gauge strings and dig in hard with a heavy 1.5mm+ pick right next to the bridge saddles for sharp, percussive chugs.
