01Onboard Booster (Screamer / Green OD)
Engage Katana onboard Booster block to cut sub-low flub and tighten the Drop A attack
02Noise Suppressor (Boss NS-2 style)
RECOMMENDED — not currently owned; essential for silencing high-gain staccato stops
The Katana 50 Gen 3 lacks a physical presence knob, so upper-end bite is pushed via the Treble knob at 7 on the Brown channel. Because the Ibanez V8 passive bridge pickup has less inherent compression than EMG 81s, the Katana onboard Screamer boost is engaged with Drive at 0 and Level high to tighten the low-end for Drop A tuning. Bass is capped at 5 to keep the 12-inch combo speaker from getting muddy on palm mutes.
