Why these settings

The Fender Frontman 15G (PR495) uses its Drive channel with gain at 7 to capture Clint Lowery's saturated Mesa/Bogner crunch without overloading the small 8-inch speaker into muddy fuzz. Treble and tone are pulled back slightly to compensate for single-coil Strat brightness against Lowery's humbucker setup. If you acquire the recommended high-gain distortion pedal, switch the amp to the Normal (clean) channel with amp gain at 2. Clean intro/verse: switch guitar volume down to 6 and select the neck pickup.

PRO TIPSevendust uses Drop-C# tuning (C#-G#-C#-F#-A#-D#) with heavy right-hand palm-muting right at the bridge saddles to get the tight, percussive chug defining this riff.
