Kotzen uses a high-output DiMarzio Chopper T rail humbucker into high-headroom British valve amps pushed by his signature OMG overdrive. On your single-coil Strat into a 15W Fender Blues Junior IV, engage the FAT boost switch, push the mid control to 7, and keep gain at 7 to draw maximum natural crunch from the EL84 tubes. Treble is dialed down to 5 to tame the naturally glassy Strat bridge pickup and Fender high-frequency shelf. If you acquire the recommended drive pedal, set the Blues Junior FAT switch off, reduce amp gain to 2-3 on clean, and let the pedal generate the core clipping.
