01METAL GATE
Onboard noise gate block to replicate Kruspe's razor-sharp, percussive chug stops
02OVERDRIVE
Onboard stomp block used as a clean boost to tighten bass attack and compensate for single-coil pickups
The original Mutter guitar wall comes from Dual Rectifiers tracked with EMG 81s, so the ALT METAL model supplies the signature Mesa chunk with its built-in gate. To compensate for the lower output and sharper high-end of your Squier Strat single-coils, the onboard OVERDRIVE block is placed in front as a clean boost (Gain 1, Level 8) while the guitar's bridge tone knob is shaved to 8 to avoid ice-pick highs. Mid is pulled down to 4 via the encoder menu to yield Rammstein's classic scooped industrial chug.
