The Frontman 10G features only gain, bass, and treble controls with an overdrive push-switch, so mid, presence, and reverb are omitted. Running the onboard overdrive at gain 7 delivers the heavy solid-state saturation of Jonny's Fender Eighty-Five, while keeping bass at 5 prevents the small 6-inch practice speaker from flubbing out. Adding a high-gain distortion pedal like the Shredmaster into the clean channel will get you much closer to the exact studio crunch. Clean verse: disengage the Overdrive button and roll guitar volume back slightly.
