Why these settings

Because you do not own an external Big Muff fuzz, the Katana is set to the Lead amp voice with the onboard booster active to supply the singing, violin-like sustain of the original Hiwatt/Muff stack. The G&L Tribute Legacy single-coil in the bridge matches Gilmour's Strat setup well, but roll the guitar tone knob back slightly to 9 to tame any top-end harshness. First solo: switch to neck+bridge (or neck) pickup for a rounder, flutey character.

PRO TIPComfortably Numb's sustain comes from wide, deliberate index-and-wrist vibrato applied at the peak of full-step and step-and-a-half bends; hit the strings with the edge of the pick close to the bridge for harmonic bloom.
