Why these settings

The Squier 15 is a basic solid-state practice amp with no mid or presence controls and limited gain structure — it cannot produce Gilmour's stacked gain and harmonic sustain alone. With amp gain at 7 you get mild breakup; for the real tone you NEED a Big Muff-style fuzz as the primary gain source (then drop amp gain to 3-4 to stay clean). Bass 6 and treble 5 approximate the Hiwatt's warm-but-clear voicing on a neutral solid-state EQ. The Stagg SES-30's ceramic single coils are brighter and thinner than Gilmour's hot FS-1, so rolling tone to 7 softens the ice-pick edge and helps the fuzz bloom.

PRO TIPGilmour's secret is light pick attack and letting the sustain do the work — don't dig in hard. Use your volume knob to clean up between phrases, and add slow, wide vibrato at the end of held notes for that vocal cry.
