Because the Player Strat's single-coil bridge pickup has lower output and less bottom-end punch than Dimebag's high-output Bill Lawrence L-500XL blade humbucker, amp gain and bass are raised while presence is pushed to maintain razor attack. The MG-300 EQ block provides the aggressive mid-cut and 4kHz boost that defined Dimebag's Randall solid-state bite. The noise gate must be set tight to clamp down on the signature rhythmic pauses in the main riff.

PRO TIPDig in hard with a thick, sharp pick (1.0mm+) right next to the bridge, and use aggressive palm-muting right at the saddles to get the surgical percussive thud Dimebag gets on the low-F# bends.
