Why these settings

Your SG's humbuckers are hotter and warmer than Gilmour's single-coil Strat with the FS-1, so roll the tone knob to 7 to tame the upper harmonics and keep the Muff fuzz from getting harsh. Mid bumped to 6 compensates for the SG's naturally scooped midrange vs the Strat's mid presence. The MG-300's Muff model handles the saturation — keep the amp model clean.

PRO TIPGilmour's secret is finger vibrato, not gear — slow, wide, from-the-wrist vibrato that lets each note bloom. Also try bridge+neck together if your SG has coil-tap or you can wire it; Gilmour used that combo on the first solo for extra body.
