Dimebag's tone comes from razor-sharp solid-state clipping with extreme mid cuts and boosted presence, so the METAL 2000 model is pushed with high treble and heavily cut mids. Because your Les Paul's PAF-style humbuckers have warmer, rounder upper mids than his ceramic Bill Lawrence L500XL, treble is pushed to 9 and the onboard 5-BAND EQ scoops the core 630Hz band while boosting 4kHz for essential bite. The onboard METAL GATE clamps down on high-gain hiss and ensures the iconic staccato riff stops dead silent. Middle has no knob on the LT25: press the encoder to open the preset, press it again on the amp model, then select MIDDLE on the display and turn the encoder.
