01Overdrive (as clean boost)

Used as a tight boost into the amp's gain channel — replicates the gain-stacking function of Dime's EQ pedals. Low drive, high output to push the preamp harder while tightening low end.

Why these settings

Your Diezel VH4 is a high-gain tube amp vs Dime's solid-state Randall — the VH4 has more natural saturation and compression, so gain is set lower (6 vs Dime's dimed settings). Dime's tone was NOT scooped despite the myth; mids are set at 7 to preserve the punch and attack clarity. Presence at 8 replicates his characteristically high presence settings that gave the tone its cutting bite. The overdrive pedal at low gain/high output mimics the function of his stacked EQs pushing the front end.

PRO TIPDime's palm-mute attack came from picking directly over the bridge pickup with the heel of his palm barely touching the strings — too much muting kills the note definition. Also, his pinch harmonics popped because of the high presence and unmuted attack; practice digging in hard with the pick edge angled slightly.
