Why these settings

The LT25's Metal 2000 model is the closest voicing to Dime's solid-state Randall tone. Mids are dropped to 3 to approximate his famous scoop, but the Mustang's Fender-voiced modeling is inherently warmer than Randall's surgical tightness — the built-in EQ compensates by cutting 800Hz further. Your Fender Mustang guitar has single coils where Dime used a hot humbucker, so gain is pushed to 8 to compensate for lower output.

PRO TIPTune to D standard minimum (DGCFAD) — this song is unplayable in E standard. Dime's secret was extreme palm-mute pressure directly over the bridge saddles, not floating above them; this creates that machine-gun tightness. Pick hard and close to the bridge with the pointed edge of a heavy pick angled slightly.
